A Day In The Life Of.....

One of those days when you know that you are truly blessed. A day in the life of a homeschooler. The ability to sit on the deck in the sunshine with fresh air blowing you hair and do your school work. What could be better. Sarah is in the 7th grade this year. We are taking a more relaxed approach to schooling this year. Sarah starts her day with prayer and Bible reading. She then makes her entries into her prayer and gratitude journal. After that she does Math, Grammar, Literature, and Spelling. We study Anatomy and General Science two days a week. She does a Science Experiment Lab with a co-op class on Monday. It allows her to have lab partners and discuss the experiments with others. We study American History and South Carolina History two days a week. Sarah does a lot of hands on projects. She is a hands on learner. She also takes an Art class and Life Skills at co-op on Monday mornings. On Friday afternoons we participate in a co-op studing the states. This is a lot of fun. On Wednesday mornings Sarah attends a PE class at the YMCA. She studies nutrition, gym and sports
and then a swimming class. Sometimes we attend Park Day to just play and have a good time. Sarah has a friend at the Senior Citizen Center who is going to teach her to crochet. We will be learning to sew and cook. Hope to take a cake decorating class or two. We will study other things as Sarah is interested in them. We have a lot of field trips planned this year. We also participate in regular programs at the zoo, art museum, state museum, aquarium, and several others. This month we will be going to the state fair, a pumpkin patch hayride trip, and to an owl prowl at the state park. This month we will be going to Gatlinburg aquarium for a program. Come and follow along with us on this journey. We look forward to learning and growing together to be the best we can be.
